Clearly, the answer is both. In some situations, it’s pure heaven but in some, it’s the total opposite. This lockdown made our life better and worse at the same time. Different types of people experienced different types of happiness and sorrows. As I mentioned in my previous blog, being an introvert doesn’t affect me as much as it did others mentally. I personally enjoyed the alone time.
As many people struggle to live, the easing of lockdown restrictions has brought us some relief. Those who suffered out of India have found their way back
For some people, restrictions on movement could be a reason for missing out on gym sessions, leading to an increase or decrease in body weight. Being too young I have never visited the gym and my health has improved because of not skipping breakfast like I did when going to school. However, if you manage your time judiciously, you can focus on your fitness. However, my sister and I started trying meditation and yoga techniques.

The outbreak of the pandemic and the lockdown measures have taught us the importance of hygiene and a disciplined lifestyle. This has brought back attention to healthy practices like washing hands, for good health. The strict no visits to restaurants are upsetting but yet it improved our health. This time can be best utilised for home-cooked foods. Health is precious. Staying at home has improved me personally. But it’s different for many people.
Hectic work life had left no time for personal life. The lockdown and self-isolation period has given us more time for our family. With schools closed this has brought families closer than before. Mothers have a respite from tiring household chores as children and other family members are sharing the burden of cleaning and cooking. It is one of the noticeable benefits of staying at home.
Even spending time with friends online made our bond stronger. Missing them made me love them even more. My soul felt happiness playing online games with friends. It was a mixture of happiness, dramas, and cute little fights
Sleeping is my second favorite thing to do in this world while the first is eating. Good sleep is essential for boosting our immunity, thus helping our body fight deadly viruses. Earlier, sleep was the last thing we focused on in our effort to meet other priorities in life. Waking early and rushing to school had become a regular feature of our daily schedules. As I got to know stay at home, I had really a good heavenly sleep.

All these things made me feel that the lockdown was heaven. But yet there are still a few things that made this feel like hell. It made me lazy, a procrastinator. But above all disadvantages, I had a roof above my head and food to eat. Meanwhile, a lot of people lost their jobs and suffered by starvation, loneliness, and depression. We should all be grateful for what we have. And that we have passed the stage even though it left some wounds in us.
